flat bevelled glass for English and french clocks etc

Flat glass bevelled and fitted. These glasses aren’t held in with putty, the bezel is gently heated then the glass placed inside. As the bezel cools it contracts around the glass and naturally holds in the glass. All this is done onsite.

Decanter stopper

At Westmorland Glass we don’t just work with clock glass.
A jeweller in the uk had a client with a decanter that had been dropped. The client really wanted to carry on using it but couldn’t stand the sight of the chip. The jeweller recommended both edges being bevelled and polished to which there client agreed. Here are the end results.

We cut and bevel all glasses in our well equipped workshop we then drill the centre hole in the glass to reattach the original pointer hand, once that’s complete well then fit it to the bezel. g 5Keeping things original

At times we often receive parts that are original but broken, or a previous repairer has made it unusable for a second time. At times like this we always try to repair the item to keep everything original for the customer.

Above is a knurled knob from the setting hand that fits into the glass of a barometer. Some how the stem from the knob had broken off, so i took the time to replace the stem so the customer could enjoy looking at his barometer how he remembered it. In my opinion it’s the little things that make a big difference.
